Continuing education credit for programs approved through HRCI and SHRM is issued to registered attendees only and is linked in the evaluation for each webinar.

The research enterprise depends on the specialized administrative and technical expertise of research support employees. Access to these critical staff varies widely in institutions of higher education, and there is no comprehensive source of data or body of knowledge that can be used to address the gaps, challenges and issues that drive this variability. The National Science Foundation GRANTED initiative supports projects that create new knowledge about the research support workforce and develop this critical infrastructure.

In this webinar, we’ll present some of the work underway with the GRANTED initiative, including:

  • A conference award, Creation of a National Job Classification System for Research Administrators, which has the long-term goal of creating standardized job titles, responsibilities and salary structures across the research administrator workforce;
  • A career exploration program, I-RAISE, that provides students with training, mentorship and networks for successful careers at research institutions; and
  • An established research development career ladder, and how this has helped inform new research development and support positions on this year’s CUPA-HR workforce surveys.

There will be time for Q&A so you can ask about the GRANTED initiative and how you can build capacity in your institution’s research enterprise.
