Janet May, Chief Human Resources Officer at Houston Community College, to Serve on CUPA-HR Board of Directors

Janet May, chief human resources officer at Houston Community College, has been tapped to serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). She will join the board on July 1.

Some highlights of May’s CUPA-HR service include serving as the chair, past chair and secretary of the Western Region board. At the national level, May has served on the Membership Committee, Emerging Issues Committee, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and participated in CUPA-HR’s Creating Inclusive Communities project.

May has worked in HR for over 20 years. Prior to her current position at Houston Community College, she served as the vice chancellor of human resources at Pima Community College, one of the largest multi-campus community colleges in the nation. She also held HR leadership positions at Texas Tech University and New Mexico State University.
