  • Making the Macintosh: Technology and Culture in Silicon Valley
    Making the Macintosh, hosted by the Stanford University Library, documents the history of Apple's Macintosh computer. Displaying a great number of primary documents from Stanford University Library's special collections department, the project is organized into six basic chapters: Counterculture and Computing, The Early Macintosh, The Apple Mouse, Technical Documentation, Marketing the Macintosh, and user groups. Each of the chapters is a well-written historical treatment of the creation of the Mac, complete with hyperlinks to accompanying documents, interviews, and related articles. A menu bar across the top of the site allows users to access information by subject or by document type. All in all, this well-made site is a wonderful history of this important technological tool.
