Several of our fellow higher education HR colleagues in Utah have been collaborating to form a
CUPA-HR Chapter in Utah. The inaugural chapter meeting will be held on Thursday, October 2 from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. in the Sorensen Center, Center Stage, on the Utah Valley University Campus. The HR Department, led by Pat Forbes, is generously hosting and providing lunch so registration is FREE!
The program will consist of a keynote address by UVU Interim President Dr. Elizabeth Hitch on HR’s Strategic Role in Higher Education. Also, CUPA-HR Past President Patti Couger will share information about CUPA-HR and how the online Knowledge Center can benefit your institution. Since this is the chapter's first meeting, we will have a short business meeting to approve bylaws and elect officers. Click here to view the agenda.

At this first meeting we plan to do the following:
- Approve Bylaws — Please review before the meeting and be prepared to discuss and approve.
- Elect Officers. The bylaws provide for the following officer positions:
- President
- President-Elect
- Past President (Craig Gardner, Director of HR at Salt Lake Community College, has graciously agreed to serve in this capacity for our first year. Craig served on the CUPA-HR National Board so he brings a wealth of knowledge to the new officers.)
- Secretary
- Treasurer
